A lot of the materials that were often used in Left Hand products and were originally designed for military use. One of his favourites was ‘Thermojoint’ this was entirely waterproof - often being found on Jackets. The fabric was crafted from a pressed, non-woven nylon and polyester blend that was said protection for the wearer against nuclear radiation which was perfect for the time of the Cold War. Double taped seams were often used with the Thermojoint material which ensured to keep the jackets waterproof, Osti’s always wanted his garments to protect you in some way which was the basis for the Thermojoint project.
Making a Thermojoint jacket in the same way today would be extremely harmful to the environment, so we are busy re-developing Thermojoint for a different world we find ourselves in - or is it!
Staying true to the past but thinking forward to the future which we believe Osti would be doing today, “always looking forward”
